When Constable Ali was murdered, every commercial motorcyclist in Lamari, a community in the town of Damari, celebrated. There was wild jubilation, for they thought that his demise was the end of their problems.

I am a poet, a journalist an essayist and a prose writer. I was born in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, Northeastern Nigeria. I read Mass Communication in the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state and currently work as a video journalist with Daily Trust. My poem ‘Poor Zabamari’ was published by Daily Trust, pressreader.com and headtopics.com while another ‘June 12; Victory That Never Graced His Grip’ was published by Daily Trust. My essay ‘What I Think are the Real Problems of Nigeria’ won first prize in the Young Global Leaders Network Essay Competition. I read, write and think.
